Rob Blagg

 

    Bobby “Robbie Rob” Blagg, drummer and backup vocalist for “Recover” was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas and later moved to Shreveport, Louisiana where he began his musical adventures. In 1984 he played drums with his family's band, performing at local parties, dances, weddings, lodges, and hotel bars & clubs. He also lived in North Carolina where he had his first studio recording experience in 1988 and in California. He's been living in Crete and Athens, Greece since 1993 and has been actively involved in the local "live music scene". Bobby has been playing drums and light percussion on and off in local bands for 23 years.

 

    Robby's rock band influences while growing up were Rush, Cheap Trick, Journey, and Reo Speeedwagon. His main "rock drummer" influences have been Neil Peart (Rush), Steve Smith (Journey), Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick), Stewart Copeland (Police), Larry Mullen Jr.(U2), Phil Collins (Genesis), Charlie Watts (Rolling Stones), and the late Jeff Porcaro (Toto). His favorite rock groups are Rush, REM, The Spin Doctors, Hootie and the Blowfish, The Black Crowes, and The Counting Crows. He listens to all types of music, however, his favorite listening music is jazz and his favorite jamming music is Funk & Blues, with alternative rock being his favorite driving music. He is also a big fan of the 80's Rock Era.     

 

Robby joined “Recover” in December, 2006. Former bands he played with include garage jam bands, Nightcap Music, 5 + 1, Broken Glass, The Ethnic Jazz Group, The Alligators, Black Fire, The Swinging Johnsons, J.C. & the Funk Bunch, The Jazz Four Project, Under Construction, and traditional Greek bands. Robby has played a wide range of styles, from Country to Reggae and loves performing on stage "Live"!.He enjoys watching and listening to live bands and spending quality time with other musicians.
